What a beautiful day. The aim was to buy an umbrella. I woke up this morning to a storm, thunder and a lot of rain. When I walked out to get the shuttle bus to uni, all the umbrellas were gone. For some reason I was the only one not knowing about the weather conditions that day, therefore I did not secure one of those anti-rain apparatus and all Chinese did, I'm sure of it. But it did not matter to me, because it was the first legit rainy day and I was determined to feel the raindrops falling down soaking my blouse. I did not mind, it was a beautiful morning. A chinese guy offered me to share his umbrella while we were waiting, we waited in silence for 20 minutes. The rain stopped at one point and sunrays welcomed everyone and me. The air smelled fresh and was filled with bird songs.
The same evening. A walk to central to get umbrellas and flipflops with my danish friend Anne. A walk to discover once more that I find this city uncredibly beautiful no matter how fast or tall, how grey or colorful, how prodigal and convenient everything is. Surrounded by all the artistic architecture covered in different lights, all the lit up offices past 11pm. I realized once more that Hong Kong never sleeps.
We ended up at the rooftop garden of the two IFC where my Chinese friend Xin joined us.
